Somebody likes me!

My newest best friend has warmed the cockles of my heart with his kind words!

Father Charles,

You are a Priest, however I don't believe your vow of obedience compels you to "express your obviously feminine feelings" to the entire world. Hmmmm. Wonder what exactly is so "obviously feminine." Perhaps my emphasis on Jesus' teachings on such "feminine" notions as love, justice, peace.

Your rants are an embarrassment. THANKS!

And your characterization of Father Trosch as a "loon" is simply unacceptable commentary - especially from a supposed brother Catholic Priest. David Trosch, by virtue of his bizarre and hate-filled ideas, has separated himself from the Catholic Church, thus he is not valid Catholic priest.

Do all of us a big favor, STOP the carnage. Your writings are nothing but mind numbing platitudes and the tree hugging, chairs in a circle, guitar strumming, I'm ok, you're ok mentality that is the reason thousands of Catholics are losing the faith and running for the door. Go read the Catholic Caveman; that will be sure to unnumb (is there such a word?) your mind!

A little less writing and a lot more praying young "Padre".

If truth comes with the label of extreme right wing then so be it.

But your childish response has now piqued my suspicion young "Padre".

Very.. very interesting my dear Watson that an exhaustive search of the finest law enforcement detection tools known to man find no "Father Charles Ledderer" anywhere in the country let alone "The Dakotas".

I for one DO NOT BELIEVE you are a Catholic Priest and now I suspect this is not even your real name.

I would submit to your audience that the name "Father Charles Ledderer" is nothing but a fake fantasy name you like to use when down at the bath house with your pals.

So here is the CHALLENGE...

Surely such a "talented" young diary writer and aspiring journalist with such a broad web following would want proper credit to be given where credit is due.

Perhaps you would like to "throw open the kimono" (as you bath house patrons are fond of saying) and reveal to your fine audience exactly WHO you are and WHERE you are located - HMMMMMMMM?

I don't know why a REAL PRIEST with so much to say to soooo many people would be afraid to give his real name, address, phone and diocesan information so his readers can do their own due diligence to rest assured they are not reading the words of some crazy "loon", wolf-in-sheep's- clothing, posing as a Catholic Priest to give false credibility to advancing a truly anti-Catholic agenda.

I await your response.

ken, fyi ~ Your host, Father Ledderer, has actually stated that he is writing under a pseudonym. There was no need for you to do all that searching in the finest law enforcement detection tools when his public admission that he is not writing under his own name can be found right here on his blog.

Is your face red yet?

Oh, and please be sure to publish your name, phone number, and address so we can all follow up and verify that you really are someone named "ken". Thank you.

Julie

Sorry Julie - I'm not a loyal follower dripping at the ledderer doorstep in anticipation of his next revelation rant. Regardless - lets throw open that kimono and find out who this guy is.

He is all over the web spreading all sorts of trash with a seemingly special interest in all things related to homosexuality and related issues.

Sorry to trouble you. By all means get back to your studies for the priestess-hood.

Ken: You make me laugh! Me doth think the lady protesth to much! Experience has shown that those who rant and rave rabidly against homosexuality and wish to call everyone else gay are often repressed, self-loathing homosexuals themselves. Just an observation.

Not quite sure where you have gotten the idea that I am "all over the web" with a "special interest in all things related to homosexuality." In all honesty I do not know of what you speak. If it isn't too much trouble could you kindly show me (and the readers) exactly where these remarks are? (At this point it has occurred to me that someone indeed might be making such comments using my name. But if so, they won't link back to this blog.)

As for childish, your name-calling takes the cake. It is the province of prepubescent boys on the playground to sneeringly call one another "gay." Grown men do not do such things.

Anonymous Ken, who has no profile, should brush up on his history.

He represents the new face of Catholicism. Historically, Roman Catholicism has been on the Liberal side of the aisle.

I just reread my last reply and was horrified to see that I wrote "Me doth think the lady protesth to much when I meant "Me doth think the lady protests too much.

I also want to be clear that I merely quoted from Shakespeare's Hamlet (or attempted to at least!) and was not implying that "Ken" is a lady.

ken ~ I was the one who made the earlier comment. I also go by the name "Adoro". Read my blog. You'll find that I'm right-ward leaning, although not what one would call a Trad.

While Father's identity cannot be ascertained, neither can mine, nor that of a lot of bloggers. I have a lot of personal reasons for remaining under a pseudonym, although I offer that my first name is Julie. A common name, but mine, nonetheless.

He has a right to maintain his anonyminity, and the only issues he's addressed that differ from current Catholic teaching is that of priestly celibacy. While I fully support the discipline of celibacy in the priesthood, and in fact, I defend it tooth and nail, in all integrity I find that I have to acquiesce to the reality that it is a discipline, not a doctrine. Thus, it can change. Although again, I'll never support such a thing.

Father, whether he is a priest or not, is well within the boundaries of solid faithful Catholicism here on this blog. It seems that your only point of contention, then, with him is that he is not writing under a name you can verify.

That's your problem, not his, not mine. I have myself told him that I don't necessarily believe that he is a priest, but I look at it like this: None of us here on the 'net are face to face. We can't really trust that those we don't know are who they say they are. So it is safe to take everything with a grain of salt, no matter what some people claim to be or say.

The best thing is to look at content and argue that...not defame character.

I find that your accusations are completely unsupported by the content of this blog, you have, by your OWN admission, not bothered to actually READ his entire blog, and you have chosen to defame the character of a person you don't know and who could, actually, be exactly who he says he is. That's a problem.

Examine your OWN conscience before you choose to accuse another's.

And Father, please feel free to delete my comments if you feel I'm out of line, which I may be. Whether you're a priest or not, you've said nothing out of line and while many of us may not agree with you, your opinions have been charitable and have begun discussions in challenging areas. No matter who you are, it is the content that we read.

As a person under my own nom-de-plume, I find it hard to condemn someone else for doing the same thing.

ken, really...get a grip. The world is not under your control and the first Amendment actually does protect the blog owner, just as it protects you from posting a link to your personal name and address.

Now...flame and condemn me and anyone else as you wish. It's your choice. Just be rational about it.
