Wedding

Ah what a rare pleasure! I had a wedding this afternoon and both the bride and groom are actually church-attending, practicing Catholics. Sadly one doesn't see that too often anymore.

The best part of all was that the congregation actually participated in the Mass. yes, they responded to the prayers, knew when to sit, stand, kneel, and -get this! - even sang. Will wonders never cease!

I will go to bed a happy man tonight!

I have heard that many priests dread weddings just due to the fact that for some, it's all about the cosmetic aspects. Sacrament? What's that?

And it seems, of those priests who blog, all of you find you must comment on a wedding gone well, where the bride and groom understand what this is, and even better when the attendees do.

This is OT, but I just wanted to comment that I'm enjoying your blog and will be back. It seems we can learn a lot from you.

One blog you may want to check out is one of my favorites, Fr. V. at Adam's Ale:

You and he may see eye to eye on a lot of things, although you likely have different approaches to dealing with them.

It is a sad commentary that we all have to comment on the weddings that go as weddings are supposed to go as though they are some rare exception!

Fr. Charles Ledderer, The Dakotas, USA you are impersonating a Catholic priest. Your identity is fictitious. There are people on here that are believing you. I am asking you not to trick people anymore.
